The Project

RE:Lab helped develop an efficient information visualization model for the TrendER observatory analyses carried out by the CNA Emilia-Romagna Study Centre. The TrendER project, which is focused on analyzing micro and small businesses in Emilia-Romagna and is supported by the Emilia-Romagna Regional CNA and the Federation of Cooperative Credit Banks of Emilia-Romagna, also involves the participation of the Regional ISTAT Office through an agreement between the Institute and the Emilia-Romagna Regional CNA.

The goal

TrendER aims to make data related to micro and small business analysis easily understandable.

To achieve this, RE:LAB has worked to provide clear and user-friendly infoview solutions for effective data consultation and understanding.

The analyses

THREE DIFFERENT ANALYSES HAVE BEEN CONDUCTED IN THESE YEARS AND ARE AVAILABLE ON THE TRENDER WEBSITE:

-The first one compares the two semesters of 2008 with the two semesters of 2020 to assess the impact of the financial crisis and the pandemic crisis on the productive sectors in Emilia-Romagna. The data includes the two semesters of 2011 for a more comprehensive understanding of the impact of the 2008 crisis on SMEs in supply chains, which had major repercussions in the following years.

-The second one presents an economic analysis with graphs of the revenues and expenses of companies in the TrendER sample from 2005 to the present. The graphs show indexed values compared to the first quarter of 2005 (set as 100) of the firms’ reported revenues and expenses.

-Finally, the last one presents trend analysis with graphs of the growth rate of revenues and expenses for the companies in the TrendER sample. The values are displayed as percentages and represent the quarter-over-quarter change from the previous year (trend change).
