The Project

The Interaction Engineering Process is a project funded by the POR FESR 2021-2027 programme, with the primary aim of digitizing the current process model for the development, prototyping, testing, and validation of human-machine interfaces (HMIs) for embedded systems. Led by RE:LAB , the project focuses on enhancing the development of solutions specifically for industrial sectors. The goal is to modernize and digitize RE:LAB ’s business model and innovation methodology by seamlessly connecting the four critical phases of the production process—development, prototyping, testing, and validation—in an agile and efficient manner. This will be achieved through the adoption of a series of applications that optimize workflows and incorporate hardware-in-the-loop techniques, ultimately improving the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the HMI development process.

Objectives of the Project

The project aims to innovate several key phases of the HMI development process to enhance both technical and operational outcomes. The specific objectives include:

  1. Structured Project and Enterprise Knowledge
  2. Simulation Phase of the HMI
  3. Twinning to the Physical Hardware World in the Loop
  4. Secure Web-Based System for Information and Application Exchange

These objectives are designed to drive significant innovations in the development of HMIs for embedded systems, enhancing both the agility and quality of the production process while ensuring secure and collaborative project management.
