The Project

Customer segmentation plays a crucial role across various sectors, from finance to mobility, by providing strategic insights for delivering targeted products and services. It helps attract new customers, improve retention, and develop safer, more effective strategies in complex scenarios. Clustering techniques enable personalized marketing by tailoring messages to specific audience segments, increasing engagement. In mobility, clustering helps understand the interconnected behavior of road users. In both contexts, it enhances the ability to predict user behavior and propose more effective strategies, while also supporting risk management by identifying vulnerabilities and adapting to changing markets or conditions.

Despite extensive research, the ever-increasing volume of data demands more advanced algorithms and technologies. Quantum computing holds the potential to revolutionize this field by offering significant improvements in processing power. While some studies have explored this technology, its application to customer segmentation in the economic and mobility sectors remains largely untapped.

Objectives of the Project

The project aims to revolutionize approaches to segmentation in both economic and mobility contexts. Traditional methods often struggle with large, complex datasets in these areas. However, transactional and user behavior data are rich with insights that, when properly analyzed, reveal critical patterns for effective segmentation. Quantum computing offers the potential to significantly enhance these processes, enabling faster and more accurate analysis. Our goal is to uncover new insights in both sectors:
– In market segmentation, facilitating the creation of tailored strategies that deliver personalized experiences, improve customer satisfaction, and optimize resources, ultimately boosting engagement and profitability.
– In mobility, paving the way for safer, more interactive strategies through better recognition of road users’ behavior, as well as more effective automated strategies for vehicles and devices.

The QUACK project focuses on applying quantum computing to user clustering with two primary goals:
– In market segmentation, to develop personalized strategies that enhance customer experiences, satisfaction, and resource optimization, leading to higher engagement and profitability.
– In the mobility sector, to implement safer interactive strategies, improve road user behavior recognition, and advance automated systems for vehicles and road devices.

Together with E4 Computer Engineering SpA and Unimore, we are excited to take this step towards revolutionizing the way industries understand and leverage data.
