RELAB has collaborated as subcontractor to the project proposed by Future Education Modena (FEM) and funded by the regional call for proposal to support innovation and investments in cultural and creative industry.
RELAB’s participation in the project focused on the design and development of a UX interface of a hydroponic greenhouse for the digital monitoring of agro-environmental factors and the digital fruition of educational content.
The goal of this collaboration was to support FEM in designing a user-friendly greenhouse interaction system – called Kit FLORA -, through the development of an intuitive and friendly mobile app (Flora), available for Android and iOS, for the remote interaction with the Kit.
RELAB has worked with FEM since the early stages of the project, from the collection of technical and functional requirements to ensure optimal design of the solution, the definition of the architecture, passing through the definition phase of the user experience and user journey, up to the development of the app. To do this, RELAB has applied user-centric and co-design methodologies and iterative prototyping, considering the different types of end users and ensuring a smooth development and integration of all tech components.
RELAB has played a role in the optimization of the communication system between the greenhouse kit, the set of sensors and the mobile app to reduce potential technical and experiential complexities.
The Flora app supports the student’s experience and learning by offering a comprehensive system for the digital fruition of educational modules, the visualization of data collected from the greenhouse’s sensors and allowing remote monitoring via a dashboard.
