RE:LAB participated at MobiTAS @HCI International Conference 2024 with 2 different panel sessions on 30 th of June!
RE:LAB made a significant impact at the 6th International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction in Mobility, Transport, and Automotive Systems (MobiTAS), showcasing its expertise through two engaging panel sessions. This year’s conference centered on disruptive technologies in mobility, addressing the new challenges they pose for users.
As innovative transportation options such as autonomous vehicles, air taxis, and e-scooters emerge, the need for a complete rethinking of human-machine interaction becomes crucial for ensuring safety and user acceptance. Moreover, integrating these modes into intermodal travel chains is essential. To support this integration, intelligent travel information systems are being developed, facilitating travelers in planning, booking, and completing their journeys across various transport modes.
The first panel session, led by Roberto Montanari, explored the topic “Autonomous Vehicle: What about the ‘Driver?’” This session delved into the evolving role of drivers in an era increasingly dominated by automation.
In the afternoon, the second panel session, titled “Innovations in Automotive User Interfaces: From Multiple Inspirations to Disruptive Solutions,” was also coordinated by Montanari, a program board member of MobiTAS. This session featured six presentations from various research institutes, each highlighting cutting-edge innovations in automotive user interfaces.
RE;LAB’s participation underscored its commitment to advancing the dialogue on the future of mobility and the critical role of user experience in shaping innovative transportation solutions.
